The University of Karachi (UoK) started functioning in 1951 as a Federal University but after the approval of Sindh government it became the University for Sindh province in 1962. There are eight faculties functioning under the university and every year a great number of students get admission in regular and private programs to get the degree. In higher learning the university is among the top educational institutions of Pakistan and upgrading its standards. Every year thousands of thousands students get admission in the regular and private program offered by the university. Due to its standardized education the university has become the first choice of students. Many colleges are affiliated for BS, MS., MPhil and PhD education with KU. Semester and annual exam system both are for the students registered with the university.
